Motivation and Objective
Recent years have seen significant progress in the fields of autonomous navigation, human-robot-interaction and safety. Beside others the availability of light-weight-robotic arms such as FRIDA, KWR5, LWA4+, UR10 and capable mobile platforms open up new application scenarios in industrial manufacturing. Yet, mobile manipulators and assistance robots have still not made their way in the standard assembly lines.
This workshop aims on bringing together practitioners and researchers from industry and science to discuss the potential and hindrances for the use of mobile assistance robots in industrial manufacturing processes. Is it necessary to adapt the current way assistance robots are programmed to the need of manufacturing processes? How may autonomy and high robustness and safety go together? What are typical tasks that may be addressed by mobile manipulation and assistance robots? Is it feasible to adapt manufacturing processes to the way autonomous mobile robots operate? Can shared autonomy and close human robot-interaction pave the ground for an accelerated introduction of mobile manipulators in standard assembly lines? How does the typical operation-environment in the industry look like? What are the specific hurdles associated with this? What technologies are emerging that have the possibility to close the gap between robotic-science and industrial application? How can software components established in the robotic research community be transferred to industry?

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.
You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).
Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.
You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).
If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
