Ustorf behandelt das Lebenswerk Strehlows sowie dessen Erfahrungen bei den Aranda, einem der Aboriginalen Völker in der Halbwüste Zentralaustraliens. Seine Biographie konfrontiert die Zuhörer mit einem ungewohnten Europabild, stellt aber auch Fragen nach einer spirituellen Revolution. Denn der Anthropologe setzte sich nicht nur gegen Kindesraub und Misshandlung der Aborigines ein, sondern studierte als Theologe auch den religiösen Glauben der Aborigines und analysierte Sprache und Rituale während seiner Zeit in Australien.
