Die Fotografien der Leopoldina-Ausstellung „Neue Bilder vom Alter(n)“ schildern das Altsein in der Gegenwart aus sehr persönlichen Perspektiven. Sie zeigen ältere Menschen in ganz unterschiedlichen Situationen, etwa beim Computerspielen, beim Ballett oder mit Surfbrett, und entwerfen ein neues Bild vom Altern.
Die Ausstellung geht auf einen Wettbewerb zurück, den die Leopoldina ausgeschrieben hat, um die Arbeit der interdisziplinären Arbeitsgruppe „Altern in Deutschland“ für den gesellschaftlichen Dialog zu öffnen.
