Der Carl-Ramsauer-Preis wird zu Ehren des berühmten xperimentalphysikers
und ersten Leiters des AEG Forschungsinstituts Carl Ramsauer (1879–1955) von der Physikalischen Gesellschaft zu Berlin vergeben.
Carl Ramsauer war von 1949 bis 1951 der erste Vorsitzende der nach dem Kriege wieder gegründeten Physikalischen Gesellschaft zu Berlin (PGzB). Seit 2002 werden jährlich jeweils vier hervorragende Doktorarbeiten in Physik und angrenzenden Gebieten der Naturwissenschaften ausgezeichnet.
