CELA - International Reserchers Event on 4.11.2013 in Hamburg

On 4 November 2013, 9.00-14.00 h, Hamburg University of Applied Sciences, with kind support of the Hamburg Chamber of Commerce, organizes the international seminar „Development Co-operation, Higher Education & Climate Change Technology Transfer - final international seminar of the ALFA III Project Network of Climate Change Technology Transfer Centres in Europe and Latin America (CELA)“.

The EU project CELA presents in ist final seminar (held in English language) the result of 3 years of successful collaboration between two European and four Latin American countries in the field of climate change technology transfer by means of innovative university cooperation. Besides key note lectures from the EU commission (EUROCLIMA), the UNESCO and the EU Latin America Caribbean Foundation, the CELA project partners will present the results and outputs of the climate technology transfer project, for example the successful quadruple helix approach which fostered the cooperation between universities, businesses, government and civil society. Moreover, the Latin American project partners showcase their pilot projects, e.g. IT-based rainwatermanagement in the Peruvian Amazon region, early warning systems for local communities in Guatemala, sustainable agroforestry in Bolivia and innovative water monitoring in Nicaragua. The European partners introduce climate-smart adaptation of water resources in Estonia and take guests on a virtual tour through the internet-based knowledge and technology transfer conference CLIMATE 2013 / CAMBIO CLIMÁTICO 2013.
