An der Humanwissenschaftlichen Fakultät der Universität zu Köln wird im Januar 2014 das Interdisziplinäre Zentrum für empirische Lehrer-Innen- und Unterrichtsforschung (IZeF) gegründet. Die wissenschaftliche Leitung liegt bei Prof. Dr. Johannes König, Inhaber des Lehrstuhls für Empirische Schulforschung mit dem Schwerpunkt Quantitative Methoden. Mit dem Zentrum wird der bestehende Profilschwerpunkt Schulforschung der Humanwissenschaftlichen Fakultät gestärkt.
