In einer feierlichen Veranstaltung wird der Caroline von Humboldt-Preis 2013 verliehen. Mit dem Preis in Höhe von 15.000 Euro wird die Biologin Noa Shenkar, Tel Aviv University, für ihre Forschungen zum Thema "Ascidians (Chordata, Ascidiacea) as bio-indicators of the marine environment" ausgezeichnet.
Der Caroline von Humboldt-Preis wird seit 2010 jährlich an exzellente Nachwuchswissenschaftlerinnen in der Postdoc-Phase für herausragende Forschung verliehen. Er ist der höchstdotierte Forschungspreis seiner Art in Deutschland.
