Niemand weiß, wann der Hauptstadt-Großflughafen eröffnet wird. Die Hamburger Elbphilharmonie wird zehn Mal teurer als geplant, Stuttgart 21 und die Berliner BND-Zentrale werden zu Endlos-Baustellen. Kann Deutschland keine Großprojekte mehr stemmen? Und wer ist schuld an dem Debakel – Architekten, Ingenieure oder die Bauherren in der Politik? Kaum ein anderer Topmanager kann diese Fragen besser beantworten als Hartmut Mehdorn, der seit März vergangenen Jahres Geschäftsführer des Berliner Flughafens ist und in seiner Zeit als Bahnchef den Berliner Hauptbahnhof baute. Mit SPIEGEL-Redakteur Frank Hornig wird Hartmut Mehdorn über seine Pläne für den Airport BER sprechen – und über seine Erfahrungen mit Politikern im Aufsichtsrat und öffentlichen Entrüstungsstürmen.
