Erwartet werden 1000 Lehrerinnen und Lehrer aus dem gesamten Bundesgebiet. Ihnen wird ein Vortrags- und Workshopprogramm angeboten, das von Best-Practice Beispielen aus der Schulpraxis über die Fachdidaktik bis hin zu reinen Fachvorträgen aus den Bereichen der Fächer Mathematik, Biologie, Chemie, Physik und Informatik reicht.
Der Kongress steht unter dem Leitsatz "Bildung ist nicht das Befüllen von Fässern, sondern das Entzünden von Flammen", einem Zitat von Heraklit.
