Der Schwerpunkt der Nanobio-Europe liegt auf der medizinischen Anwendung von Nanomaterialien zu diagnostischen und therapeutischen Zwecken. Besonderes Interesse gilt der Charakterisierung von zellulären Prozessen und Mechanismen durch neueste nanoanalytische und bildgebende Verfahren. Des Weiteren wird der Einsatz von Nanomaterialien bei medizinischen Implantaten, in der regenerativen Medizin, in der Diagnostik und beim gezielten Wirkstofftransport betrachtet. Toxikologische Studien zu Nanomaterialien und Präsentationen von großen nanobiologischen EU-Projekten runden das Programm ab.
