Identification and sequencing of gut microorganisms has been the starting point. Today, researchers are beginning to understand the fascinating linkages between our microbiome and our organism. As the field widens and various sub-disciplines like pharmacology and infection biology address this topic, a deeper understanding of the function as well as of the therapeutic potential of the gut microbiome can be achieved. Defining, exploring and improving our gut health may hold an enormous preventive and curative potential with regard to the severe illnesses (like cardiovascular diseases, rheumatic and autoimmune diseases or diabetes) and obesity – a whole new medical approach may beckon.
Experts from fields as diverse as Inflammation, Microbial Communication, Evolutionary Game Theory, and Diabetes will gather at an inspiring venue to address open questions as well as the multiple new insights and opportunities for research trying to unriddle the mysteries of the gut microbiome.

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.
You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).
Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.
You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).
If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
