Die Dynamik des Regelkreises und seine Stabilität werden anhand von Übertragungsfunktionen analysiert. Weiterhin werden die Wirkung typischer Standardregler wie Zweipunkt- und PID-Regler untersucht und Standard-Einstellverfahren behandelt. Die zum Verständnis der digitalen Regelungstechnik (Feldbusse, Mikroprozessoren etc.) notwendigen Grundlagen der Abtastregelung gehören ebenfalls zu den Kursinhalten. Darüber hinaus werden komplexere Entwurfsmethoden wie Model Predictive Control oder Internal Model Control vorgestellt und anhand von Füllstandsregelung und Regelung von Destillationskolonnen die Lösung praxisnaher Probleme behandelt.
Die Veranstaltung richtet sich an Ingenieure, Chemiker, Physiker und Biologen in Planungsabteilungen und Produktionsbetrieben, die keine Spezialausbildung in Regelungstechnik erhalten haben oder ihre Kenntnisse auf den neuesten Stand bringen wollen.
