Management of scientific Big Data poses challenges at all stages of the data life cycle – acquisition, ingest, access, replication, preservation, etc. For scientific communities the data exploration – commonly considered as the 4th pillar besides experiment, theory and simulation – is of utmost importance to gain new scientific insights and knowledge.
At this symposium, organized by the portfolio extension “Large Scale Data Management and Analysis” (LSDMA) of the German Helmholtz Alliance, international experts address topics on Big Data analysis and beyond. The opening keynote will be given by Chris Mattmann, Chief Architect in the Instrument and Data Systems section at the NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory; the closing keynote by Ed Seidel, Director of the National Center for Supercomputing Applications (Urbana, Illinois). The symposium also provides a common platform for discussions, identifying new perspectives and getting in contact with LSDMA.

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.
You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).
Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.
You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).
If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
