Surface acoustic wave (SAW) sensors, an offspring of precision filters used in mobile communication devices, are developed for various sensing applications in the industry. They can be operated wirelessly and exhibit very good thermal stability for harsh environment applications. SAW sensors have been reported for physical sensing properties like temperature, pressure, strain and torque/force measurement, but also for chemical and biological sensing applications.
PLATFORM FOR RESEARCH & INDUSTRY
The SAW Sensor Symposium will build bridges between the latest technological developments from science and industrial applications. Its programme covers the latest research from academia and application-related talks from industrial end users. The Symposium provides an excellent opportunity to meet engineers from academia and industry.
SCIENTIFIC AND INDUSTRIAL TOPICS
The abstracts and papers of the SAW Sensor Symposium are covering the following areas:
- sensor device design,
- concepts and materials,
- physical SAW sensors,
- chemical SAW sensors,
- biological SAW sensors,
- SAW gas sensors,
- SAW sensors for harsh environments,
- condition monitoring,
- industrial deployment of SAW sensors.
All relevant information you can find on the symposium website: http://www.saw-symposium.com
The Symposium is organized by CTR Carinthian Tech Research and co-financed by the Federal Ministry of Transport, Innovation and Technology (BMVIT).

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.
You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).
Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.
You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).
If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
