Essay Launch and Discussion

Hans N. Weiler, Emeritus Professor of Education and Political Science at Stanford University and past-President of Viadrina University Frankfurt/Oder, who observed the Hertie School's foundation phase at close range, put down on paper the School's genesis. His essay, Inventing a Private School of Public Policy. The Founding of the Hertie School of Governance (2000-2005) will be published shortly.

After a presentation of his main findings, Hans N. Weiler will be joined on the panel by Frank Mattern, Director, McKinsey&Co and Chairman of the Hertie School’s board of trustees, Klaus Hurrelmann, Professor of Public Health and Education at the Hertie School, Helmut K. Anheier, Dean of the Hertie School, and Ursula Weidenfeld, journalist and past Board member, who will also moderate the discussion.
