Das Pferd, das im Tieranatomischen Theater einst das zentrale Forschungsobjekt der Veterinärmedizin war, kehrt nun an diesen historischen Ort zurück. Auf dem Sektionstisch liegt im Jahr 2014 jedoch das symbolische Tier – das Pferd als Projektionsfläche für Vorstellungen von Freiheit, Freundschaft und Natürlichkeit ebenso wie von Macht, Unterdrückung und Naturbeherrschung. Diese Bilder bewegen sich zwischen den Polen der Zügellosigkeit und der Züchtigung – den Idealen vom wilden und vom gezähmten Tier.
Die Ausstellung wurde mit Unterstützung des Helmholtz-Zentrums für Kulturtechnik und des Museums für Naturkunde von Studierenden unterschiedlicher Fachrichtungen in einem zweisemestrigen Projektseminar unter der Leitung von Dr. Cornelia Weber konzipiert und kuratiert. Die Ausstellung läuft vom 13. September 2014 bis 10. Januar 2015
