Die chemische Industrie engagiert sich seit Jahrzehnten für bessere Produktionsverfahren zur effizienten Nutzung von Rohstoffen und Energie. Damit eng verbunden ist die Weiterentwicklung und Verbreiterung der Rohstoffbasis für die Chemieproduktion. Interessante und hoffnungsvolle Optionen – mit teilweise langfristigem Zeithorizont – sind die Nutzung von Biomasse, Kohle und Wasserstoff.
