Vom 1. Mai bis zum 31. Oktober findet in Mailand die Weltausstellung 2015 unter dem Motto „Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life“ statt. Der Deutsche Pavillon “Fields of Ideas“ gibt den Besucherinnen und Besuchern Einblicke in neue und überraschende Lösungsansätze aus Deutschland für die Ernährung der Zukunft. Wie bereits bei der Expo 2010 in Shanghai ist die Universität Stuttgart auch in diesem Jahr in Mailand an der technischen Umsetzung des Deutschen Pavillon beteiligt.

Prof. Wolfram Ressel, Rektor der Universität Stuttgart, wird im Rahmen der Präsentation der Pavillon-Show den Beitrag der Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler der Universität Stuttgart zu einer erfolgreichen Präsentation Deutschlands auf der Expo Milano 2015 erörtern.
