Die Veranstaltung richtet sich an Statistiker, Informatiker und Biologen, die neue statistische Methoden für die Analyse genetischer Daten diskutieren. In der Genforschung fallen durch die aktuellen Analyseverfahren etwa von DNA, RNA und Proteinen große Datenmengen an. Um diese Daten auswerten zu können, müssen geeignete neue statistische Methoden entwickelt werden. Ziel des Workshops ist es, Statistiker mit Biologen und Medizinern zusammenzubringen, um eine interdisziplinäre Perspektive auf die Herausforderungen der Genanalyse zu ermöglichen. Die Organisation liegt bei Dr. Julien Gagneur, der am Genzentrum der LMU die Arbeitsgruppe „Computational Genomics“ leitet, zusammen mit Anne-Laure Boulesteix, Professorin am Institut für medizinische Informationsverarbeitung Biometrie und Epidemiologie der LMU.
