How emerging market brands are going global

Emerging markets now account for 75 per cent of all global mobile phone subscriptions, 75 per cent of steel consumption, 50 per cent of vehicle sales, 50 per cent of all retail sales, and 50 per cent of inward foreign direct investments. And yet, there are only a few brands from emerging economies that are well known outside their domestic markets. Prof. Jacob will develop distinct brand management strategies of emerging market brands on their route to global brands.

Isaac Jacobs is Professor and Head of Marketing at K. J. Somaiya Institute of Management Studies & Research, Mumbai, India. In a career spanning over 30 years in the industry, Prof. Jacobs held posts from a salesperson to CEO spanning responsibilities in sales, brand management, marketing and general management. He has worked for companies such as Mattel Toys India, J Walter Thompson, SSCB Lintas, and Tata Mutual Fund. Prof. Jacobs teaches Brand Management, Integrated Marketing Communications and B2B Marketing. He serves as a brand consultant and corporate trainer for such organisations as Publicis, Air India, and Boots Healthcare.

Help

Search / advanced search of the idw archives
Combination of search terms

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.

Brackets

You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).

Phrases

Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.

Selection criteria

You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).

If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
