Intelligence and Action III. Dance Engaging Science - Expanding on the Cognitive Perspective

Dance provides multiple aspects for scientists interested in the integration of movement and cognition, motor control and learning, action-perception coupling and related questions regarding social cognition and aesthetics, with difficult to study areas yielding to innovative empirical and experimental approaches.

The workshop is organised by Bettina Bläsing (Bielefeld) and Scott deLahunta (Coventry).
One of the main aims of the workshop is to bring this interdisciplinary community of researchers, scholars, artists and pedagogues together. Following the previous two "Intelligence and Action" workshops at the ZiF (2007, 2009), the "Dance Engaging Science" (DeS) network (The Forsythe Company | Motion Bank, 2011 - 2014) has established a range of research collaborations, supported initial projects and fostered dialogs between artists, researchers and scholars from the relevant fields.
