Summer School: Methods in Molecular Energy Research
The MPI for Chemical Energy Conversion organises a Summer School with the topic:
Methods in Molecular Energy Research: Theory and Spectroscopy
It will take place from August 30th to September 4th, at the Wissenschaftspark Gelsenkirchen, Germany.
This summer school is designed for graduate students and post-doctoral fellows in the general field of molecular energy research and inorganic chemistry. Participants will be introduced to a wide range of spectroscopic methods by international experts, while practical sessions will focus on electronic structure calculations and the prediction of spectroscopic properties.
Topics:
• Introduction to computational chemistry
• Ligand field theory, Magnetism
• Electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR), optical (UV/Vis) and MCD, vibrational (IR/Raman), Mössbauer, and X-ray spectroscopies (XAS, XES)
• Calculation of spectroscopic parameters
• Advanced special interest lectures
Keynote lectures:
We are delighted to announce that Prof. William Tolman (University of Minnesota) and Prof. Stefan Grimme (University of Bonn) will deliver keynote lectures in the 2015 summer school.

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.
You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).
Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.
You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).
If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
