Schon jetzt sind Grundwasserreserven übernutzt und teilweise verschmutzt, ganze Gebiete sind ausgetrocknet. Auch soziale Konflikte um das knappe Gut deuten sich an. Im Jahr 2025 könnten nach Schätzungen der UNESCO zwei Drittel der Weltbevölkerung von Wasserknappheit betroffen sein: Bahnt sich in den betroffenen Ländern und ihren Städten eine humane Katastrophe an oder kann die Ressource noch nachhaltig genutzt und gerecht verteilt werden?
