Hydraulic Fracturing, umgangssprachlich meist als Fracking bezeichnet, ist eine in Politik und Gesellschaft kritisch und kontrovers diskutierte Technologie. Sie kommt heute für zwei wirtschaftlich und energiepolitisch wichtige Anwendungsgebiete in Betracht: die Gewinnung von Schiefergas aus Tongesteinen und die Tiefengeothermie zur Nutzung von Wärme und Strom.
Mit der acatech POSITION „Hydraulic Fracturing – Eine Technologie in der Diskussion“ informiert acatech wissenschaftlich und technisch fundiert über die Potenziale, Chancen und Risiken des Fracking, zeigt Handlungsoptionen auf und gibt Empfehlungen für Best Practice Verfahren zum sicheren Einsatz der Technologie.
In einer Abschlussveranstaltung am Dienstag, 9. Juni 2015, 18:00 bis 20:00 Uhr im Humboldt-Carré, Behrenstraße 42, 10117 Berlin stellt acatech die POSITION vor.
