Die Fachleute tauschen die neusten Forschungsergebnisse zum Thema „Induzierte Resistenz von Pflanzen“ aus. Das Thema ist von höchster Brisanz, da bereits im Jahr 2050 etwa 9,7 Milliarden Menschen mit Pflanzen ernährt werden müssen. Da der Einsatz von Pestiziden reduziert werden soll, möchten die Wissenschaftler das aktivierbare Abwehrsystem von Pflanzen ausnutzen, um diese umweltverträglich vor Schaderregern und Trockenheit zu schützen. Damit sollen hohe Ernteerträge gewährleistet werden.
