Mit dem Fokus „Die Zukunftsstadt als Rohstoffquelle – Urban Mining“ findet die Abschlusskonferenz der Fördermaßnahme „r³ – Strategische Metalle und Mineralien“ im Rahmen des Wissenschaftsjahrs 2015 und im Anschluss an das 12. BMBF-Forum für Nachhaltigkeit im Forschungszentrum caesar in Bonn statt.
Insgesamt 27 Forschungsprojekte präsentieren ihre Ergebnisse zu Recycling, Einsparung und Ersatz von strategisch wichtigen metallischen Rohstoffen. Dabei geht es zum Beispiel um anthropogene Lager wie Deponien und Halden, aus denen zukünftig noch Metalle für die Wirtschaft gewonnen werden könnten. Flankiert wird die Konferenz von einer Schüleraktion, bei der prämierte Schulprojekte zum Thema Rohstoffeffizienz vorgestellt werden. Moderiert wird die Schüleraktion von der Wissen macht Ah! – Moderatorin Shary Reeves.
