Communication is of great importance for every aspect of life. The exchange of information has a strong impact on biological processes ranging from the interactions between molecules to those between individuals. While intermolecular communication allowed the emergence of life’s basic self-sustaining properties, the evolution towards more complex forms, like cell-cell interactions and organism-wide informational exchange, made it possible for multicellular organisms to persist and eventually develop social behavior. The vast, nearly infinite ways of communication are highly intriguing and therefore of special interest for biological research.
Since the exchange of information defines our world, the upcoming VBC PhD Symposium will focus on “Communication”. It aims to provide a platform for outstanding scientists to share their exciting research about different levels of communication.

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.
You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).
Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.
You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).
If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
