Die renommierte australo-amerikanische Osteuropahistorikerin Sheila Fitzpatrick kommt am 5. November 2015 nach München und wird im Rahmen der öffentlichen Veranstaltungsreihe "Forum" der Graduiertenschule für Ost- und Südosteuropastudien
einen Vortrag mit dem Titel "Stalin and Postwar Antisemitism in the Soviet Union" halten.
Sie lehrte viele Jahre Sowjetische Geschichte an der University of Chicago und hat mehrere bedeutende Studien zum modernen Russland sowie insbesondere zur Sozial- und Kulturgeschichte der Stalin-Zeit vorgelegt. 2002 erhielt sie dafür u.a. den Mellon Foundation Distinguished Achievement Award. Seit ihrer Emeritierung ist sie Honorary Professor an der University of Sydney. Dieser Tage ist ihr jüngstes Buch "On Stalin´s Team: The Years of Living Dangerously in Soviet Politics" (Princeton University Press) erschienen (http://press.princeton.edu/titles/10554.html).
Der Vortrag wird in englischer Sprache gehalten.
