Education plays a vital role in successful integration. The task of integrating large numbers of migrants and refugees in European societies, however, challenges educational systems and concepts. During this event, international experts will share some of their latest findings on the main hurdles that integration faces, deciding factors for success and what policymakers and practitioners can learn from the research.
In his keynote, The Importance of Origin in the (Educational) Success of Migrants, Professor Jaap Dronkers will outline why country of origin is the most important macro-variable in the explanation of the (educational) success of migrants, far more important than country of destination. Among other aspects, Professor Dronkers will discuss the consequences of the omission of this important variable both in OECD Research and EU policy.

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.
You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).
Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.
You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).
If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
