Mikheil Janelidze, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Georgia, will give a talk about the current political and economic situation in Georgia on its path to European and Euro-Atlantic integration. After his talk the floor will be opened for discussion. Georgia´s efforts to overcome the consequences of recent political turbulence and the Ukraine conflict as well as to stabilise the political and economic situation of the country were widely recognised by the international community. The democratic transformation of Georgia is an outstanding demonstration of successful EU foreign policy, in a key region and at a critical time.
Mikheil Janelidze was appointed Minister of Foreign Affairs in December 2015. He completed his MBA at Grenoble Graduate School of Business, France, and Caucasus School of Business, Georgia, in 2010. Before being appointed minister he held various positions in the ministries of Georgia, among those Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development and Head of Department for Foreign Trade and International Economic Relations in the Ministry of Economy and Sustainable Development as well as First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Analysis Chief Specialist in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 2006 to 2009, he worked as the Managing Director and Project Manager for different companies of the Wissol Group and has been a Business Development Manager for International Project Support Services in Tbilisi, Georgia.
