Seit über 50 Jahren plant und baut die Bartholet Maschinenbau AG (BMF) Seilbahnen, in Berggebieten wie zunehmend auch in urbanen Gegenden, wo immer mehr Seilbahnen dem Personentransport dienen. Seit 2013 ist Bartholet Seilbahnen auch in Russland in Betrieb, im Skigebiet Kirovsk in der Nähe von Murmansk. Eine weitere prestigeträchtige Anlage baut Bartholet Seilbahnen momentan mitten in der Riesenmetropole Moskau.
