The symposium SHM-NDT 2018 provides a Forum for end users, scientists, equipment suppliers and for an interested audience to discuss current scientific topics and to examine products as well as present and future possibilities for SHM and NDT.
The Symposium is organized by htw saar University of Applied Sciences in cooperation with the German Society for Nondestructive Testing (DGZfP e.V.), the French Society for Nondestructive Testing (Cofrend), INSA-Lyon, FITT gGmbH, Fraunhofer IZFP, Fraunhofer EZRT and NDT.net.
Topics of the Symposium
- Structural health monitoring
- NDT sensors, detectors and sources: ultrasound, acoustical emission, X-ray, thermography, eddy currents, EMAT, etc.
- Modeling and simulation
- Reliability, probability of detection
- Sensor data fusion
- Reconstruction techniques
- Defect detection & localisation methods
- Signal and image processing
Background and Objective
The International Symposium on Structural Health Monitoring and Nondestructive Testing was held for the first time in November 2013, at Lyon, France, organized by the National Institute of Applied Sciences INSA-Lyon.
This event is intended to be a meeting point for international scientists, engineers, and other professionals in the field of SHM and NDT applied to monitor, characterize and control of materials and processes in industrial fields.

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.
You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).
Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.
You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).
If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
