Die Entstehung des Menschen im Rahmen der Evolution beruht auf zufälligen Veränderungen im Zusammenspiel mit den Umweltbedingungen. Der Zufall bestimmt aber auch, meist im Zusammenspiel mit äußeren Einflüssen, unsere individuellen Eigenschaften, unter anderem die Disposition für bestimmte Krankheiten wie etwa Krebs. Können wir dort eingreifen? Und sollen wir das tun? Der Vortrag beleuchtet biologische, medizinische und ethische Aspekte dieser Fragen.
