The scope of the conference is extended beyond the magnetocaloric focus of former Thermag conferences and includes various forms of caloric cooling approaches as well as thermomagnetic energy conversion. By this, an enhanced exchange of knowledge between researchers working on the related forms of caloric materials and devices is promoted.
The topics include:
Magnetocaloric materials
Elastocaloric materials
Barocaloric materials
Electrocaloric materials
Caloric devices for room temperature cooling
Caloric applications at low temperatures
Thermomagnetic energy conversion
Resource basis and recycling of caloric materials
Standardisation and terminology of caloric materials
The workshop will be chaired by Prof. Oliver Gutfleisch, Technische Universität Darmstadt and Dr. Alexander Barcza, Vacuumschmelze and is organised in cooperation with the International Institute of Refrigeration (IIR).
