Glycosylation is an abundant and highly diverse type of protein modification essential in the
development and physiology of all living organism. This teaching workshop provides an overview on the current understanding of the major glycosylation pathways in mammals and discusses molecular mechanisms by which mammalian glycosylation governs physiology and contributes to disease.
