Der Vortrag findet statt im Rahmen der Tagung "Establishing Empathy: Education, Emotions and Society in the Nineteenth and Twentieth Centuries", die von Prof. Dr. Sylvia Kesper-Biermann (Fakultät für Erziehungswissenschaft, Universität Hamburg) organisiert wird.
Prof. Ute Frevert, Direktorin des Max-Planck-Instituts für Bildungsforschung in Berlin, hält einen öffentlichen Vortrag zur Historisierung von Empathie und Bildung und zeichnet die Geschichte der Empathie als Antwort auf gesellschaftliche Entwicklungen seit Ende des 18. Jahrhunderts nach. Der Vortrag "Historicizing Empathy and Education" (auf Englisch) findet unter Berücksichtigung der geltenden Corona-Regelungen im Anna-Siemsen-Hörsaal (Erdgeschoss Von-Melle-Park 8, 20146 Hamburg) statt.
