Die Zahl neu detektierter Moleküle im interstellaren Medium steigt in den letzten Jahren dank immer empfindlicherer Teleskope rasant und sie wurden mittlerweile in allen Phasen der Sternentstehung entdeckt. Es stellen sich somit die Fragen: Wie komplex kann die Materie zwischen den Sternen werden? Wie entwickelt sich die komplexe interstellare Chemie von der dunklen Wolke bis hin zur Entstehung des Sterns und seiner Planeten? Und welche Rolle spielen diese Moleküle als Bausteine noch komplexerer Moleküle und letztlich der Entstehung von Leben?
Biographische Angaben zur Referentin:
Laura Ann Busch, M. Sc., hat in Bonn Physik und Astrophysik studiert und promoviert jetzt am Max-Planck-Institut für Radioastronomie im Rahmen des DFB-Sonderforschungsbereichs 956 und der „International Max Planck Research School for Astronomy and Astrophysics" (IMPRS). Ihre Arbeit dreht sich dabei rund um Moleküle, wie sie entstehen und zerstört werden und was sie über die Region, in der sie beobachtet werden, verraten.
