Tackling global environmental issues together: This is what around 1,000 environmental scientists from over 80 countries are working towards at the „International Conference on the Biogeochemistry of Trace Elements (ICOBTE)“. It takes place every two years at various locations around the world. The upcoming one, from 6 to 10 September 2023 at the University of Wuppertal, will be a premiere in two respects: for the first time in Germany and for the first time in combination with ICHMET, the "International Conference of Heavy Metals".
Current research results, the latest experiences and the development of cutting-edge technologies are the focus of this exchange. The aim is to develop an even deeper understanding of the interactions between man and the environment and to discuss solutions for the future of the planet. It is about strategies to prevent environmental pollution, for example by heavy metals, chemicals and waste as well as their remediation. The exchange will take place in different disciplines, such as human health, ocean, atmospheric and earth sciences, ecotoxicology, geochemistry and biogeochemistry of trace elements, environmental technology and analytical chemistry.
Registration and Free Pass tickets for journalists: Eight media representatives will have the opportunity to attend the scientific sessions of the conference free of charge. Tickets will be allocated in the order of registration for the conference. For any questions concerning the Free Pass tickets please contact presse@uni-wuppertal.de.
