Ist unsere Gesellschaft wirklich so gespalten, wie es in den Medien oftmals postuliert wird? Gemessen an Befunden zur Entwicklung der Sozialstruktur moderner Gesellschaften und im internationalen Vergleich zeigt sich, dass Annahmen mit der Realität kaum in Einklang zu bringen sind. Manche Idealvorstellungen von Gesellschaft sind angesichts des sozialen Wandels nur noch als Mythen zu bezeichnen: Verständnis, Respekt, Solidarität, Inklusion und Harmonie seien hier als Stichworte genannt, die der Soziologe Stefan Hradil erläutern wird.
