Digital vernissage: Pierre Corneille's Andromède and its historical stage effects

Are you be interested in discovering how 'special effects' were executed in Baroque theater and exploring what went on behind the scenes? The vernissage of the digital exhibition "Pierre Corneille's Andromède and its historical stage effects" offers the opportunity to do just that.

The interactive exhibition shows how mechanical theater emerged in 17th century France at the interface between art and technology, which special effects were used even before the invention of electricity and how artists, actors, engineers, poets and spectators understood technology-savvy theater.

The vernissage also showcases the digital exhibition project titled 'The Theater of the Palais Royal Reconstructed in the Time of Molière' at Sorbonne University in Paris. You can explore the project, which also offers an opportunity for international exchange, here https://institut-opus.sorbonne-universite.fr/evenements-opus/le-projet-de-recons... at Sorbonne University in Paris.
