In der pluralen Demokratie sind Wahlkämpfe ein Ringen um Positionen, Wählerstimmen und Mehrheiten. Zu verzeichnen ist jedoch nicht nur eine verschäfte Polarisierung, sondern grassierende Inzivilität - eine kommunikative und physische Bedrohungslage für Wahlkämpfende. Ausgehend von der Befundlage der Großstadtbefragung 2022 wird der Verlauf des aktuellen Bundestagswahlkampfs unter dem Gesichtspunkt diskutiert, welche Effekte Inzivilität und sich verändernde Wettbewerbsbedingungen für die Repräsentation von Vielfalt in der pluralen, postmigrantischen Demokratie haben.
