Theme
Managing irregularity is a central issue in the political debate on effective migration management. Robust data and research findings are important for informing public debate and guiding the development of effective policies. Thereby, the complexities and challenges associated with irregular migration require a multifaceted research and policy-making approach.
Against this background, the BAMF Research Centre will host the MIMAP Closing Conference, which will focus on empirical findings and methodological advances in the study of different aspects of the situation of irregularly staying migrants. The conference brings together researchers from various disciplines and methodological backgrounds (qualitative, quantitative, ethnographic, mixed methods) who are empirically engaged with irregularly staying migrants or apply innovative methodological approaches to study explicitly hard-to-reach migrant groups.
Programme
The conference will feature a keynote address by Assistant Professor Dr. Albert Kraler, Coordinator of the EU Horizon Europe Project MIrreM (Measuring Irregular Migration and related Policies).
On the evening of the first day, there will be a possibility to join a conference dinner (self-paid).
The programme is available for download below.
