Energy Transition - Power Electronics Dominated Power Systems

The transition to renewable energy resources, the diminishing of power system inertia and the vast use of power electronics are central challenges of our time. Effectively integrating renewable energies with advanced power electronics is essential for a sustainable energy infrastructure.

In line with our DFG Major Instrumentation Project “distributed Power-Hardware-In-the-Loop-Agent-System (dPHILAS)”, this is a platform to exchange ideas at the intersection of energy and power electronics.

In line with our DFG Major Instrumentation Project “distributed Power-Hardware-In-the-Loop-Agent-System (dPHILAS)”, this year's conference is a platform to exchange ideas on the latest developments, technological innovations, and forward-thinking concepts at the intersection of energy and power electronics. Experts from academia and industry will navigate with you through the central challenges and solutions for an efficient, sustainable, and interconnected energy infrastructure, its modeling and simulation, its control, and its advanced power-hardware-in-the-loop (PHIL) emulation.

We are honored to have Florian Dörfler (ETH Zürich) and Daniel Quevedo (University of Sydney) as well as Giovanni De Carne (KIT) and Marcos Garcia Arregui (Hydro Quebec) as keynote speakers, offering diverse perspectives on the integration of power electronics in modern energy systems. Learn from the experts in the following sessions:

Session 1 (Keynotes): Recent Advances and Remaining Challenges: Control and Cybersecurity of Power Electronics Dominated Systems

Session 2: Understanding Physics: Modeling, Simulation, and Protection in Power Electronics Dominated Grids

Session 3: Observing and Manipulating Physics: State Estimation, Control, and System Resilience

Session 4 (Keynotes): Power Hardware-in-the-Loop: Testing, Validation, and Innovation

Session 5: Validating Physics: Emulation, Field Testing, and Hybrid Solutions

This event is a great opportunity to engage with professionals, establish connections within the field, and gain a comprehensive understanding of the potential and diversity of a power electronics dominated power system and its PHIL emulation in advancing the energy transition. You will also have the chance to acquaint yourself with our institute and its academic environment.

To further facilitate interaction among participants, we will host a networking get-together in the evening. We anticipate a stimulating and insightful event and look forward to welcoming you personally to Hochschule München (HM) University of Applied Sciences.

Help

Search / advanced search of the idw archives
Combination of search terms

You can combine search terms with and, or and/or not, e.g. Philo not logy.

Brackets

You can use brackets to separate combinations from each other, e.g. (Philo not logy) or (Psycho and logy).

Phrases

Coherent groups of words will be located as complete phrases if you put them into quotation marks, e.g. “Federal Republic of Germany”.

Selection criteria

You can also use the advanced search without entering search terms. It will then follow the criteria you have selected (e.g. country or subject area).

If you have not selected any criteria in a given category, the entire category will be searched (e.g. all subject areas or all countries).
