Understanding the physical principles that govern cellular organization, dynamics, and function remains one of the central challenges in modern biological physics. Cells constantly integrate chemical signals, mechanical forces, and spatial cues to maintain homeostasis and to respond to their environment. Yet many of the processes that emerge from this intricate interplay across multiple scales — from molecules to tissues — are still only partially understood.
This symposium brings together colleagues, collaborators, and friends from across the broad field of cell physics to reflect on recent developments, exchange new ideas, and discuss future directions. In honor of the late director Prof. Dr. Jochen Guck, it provides an occasion not only to celebrate scientific progress, but also to acknowledge the lasting impact he had on shaping this research community.
Hosted at the Max-Planck-Zentrum für Physik und Medizin, the symposium offers a setting that reflects the interdisciplinary spirit of the field and honors the scientific legacy that continues to guide and motivate our community.
