»East to East«: Multiple Configurations of Eastern Transimperialities

Im Rahmen der Ringvorlesung »East to East – Connecting Eastern Europe and East Asia« widmet sich Prof. Dr. Stefan Rohdewald unterschiedlichen Raumkonzepten für historische Verflechtungen zwischen Asien und Europa.

Prof. Dr. Stefan Rohdewald (Universität Leipzig, Historisches Seminar) gibt Einblicke in Diskussionen um die Entwicklung von Raumkonzepten, die über die Vorstellung von »Containerräumen« hinausgehen.

Da der Rahmen der Ringvorlesung ganz Asien und große Teile Europas umfasst, besteht die Herausforderung darin, Ansätze oder Metaphern zu evaluieren, die sich sowohl für mesohistorische Raumkonfigurationen als auch für Verflechtungen eignen, die sehr große Distanzen und mehrere historische Epochen überbrücken.
