Das Bild vom 9.3.2011 zeigt einen sehr stark reduzierten Ozongehalt in der Stratosphäre über der Arktis (violett und blaue Farben entsprechen sehr geringen Ozonkonzentrationen). Der Ozonabbau hat erst vor kurzem begonnen und wird sich in den nächsten Wochen weiter beschleunigen, solange der polare Wirbel stabil bleibt.
