Trilobit von oben: Die heute ausgestorbenen Lebewesen waren die beherrschende Tierform des Paläozoikums (Erdalterums). Sie sind weitläufig mit Asseln verwandt. Trilobiten gehören mit Insekten, Spinnentieren und Krebsen zu der systematischen Gruppe der Arthropoden (Gliederfüßer).
