Messung der inneren Rotationsenergie einfach geladener HD-Molekülionen. Durch den Einfang kalter Elektronen werden einige Moleküle während ihres Flugs durch den Speicherring aufgebrochen. Nach dem Aufbruch fliegen die H- und D-Fragmente getrennt auf einen abbildenden Detektor zu. Aus dem Abstand der Fragmente auf dem Detektorschirm kann so die anfängliche Rotationsenergie bestimmt werden.
