Vom 2. bis 4. April fand der X Workshop on Empirical Research in Financial Accounting in Corunã, Spanien, statt. Im Rahmen des Workshops wurde der "Best Paper Award" verliehen. Der gemeinsame Beitrag „Firm Valuation and the Uncertainty of Future Tax Avoidance“ von Martin Jacob und Harm Schütt (beide WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management) konnte sich dabei gegen über 45 eingereichte Manuskripte durchsetzen. Die Wissenschaftler untersuchten, wie sich Steuerplanung auf Unternehmenswerte auswirkt. Wichtigstes Ergebnis der Untersuchung ist, dass nicht nur die Höhe des effektiven Steuersatz, sondern auch die Schwankungen über die Zeit einen Einfluss auf den Unternehmenswert haben.
