Prof. Martin Stratmann, Direktor der Abteilung ‚Grenzflächenchemie und Oberflächentechnik‘ am Düsseldorfer Max-Planck-Institut für Eisenforschung und ab Juni 2014 Präsident der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft feiert am 20. April seinen sechzigsten Geburtstag.
Stratmann ist Elektrochemiker und Materialwissenschaftler. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen auf den Gebieten der Elektrochemie und Korrosionsforschung. Als Präsident der Max-Planck-Gesellschaft wird er die Leitlinien der Wissenschaftspolitik bestimmen und repräsentiert die Gesellschaft mit ihren 83 Instituten und mehr als 21.000 Mitarbeitern im In- und Ausland.
